Our journey began 77 years ago, and since then, serving our society has always been close to our hearts. It is deeply ingrained in our values. As we stand today, we aim to direct our resources where they can bring the most significant impact to areas that require the utmost attention.

We envision our business as a platform for positive change, aspiring to elevate our societal contributions continually. Key to our efforts are initiatives in education and health. Moreover, the work done through the YOHAN POONAWALLA FOUNDATION and the various Poonawalla Group companies embodies our commitment to social welfare. Wherever we find ourselves, our mission remains to propel sustainable economic growth while building trust and ensuring security within our communities.

Soli Poonawalla Memorial High School

The Soli Poonawalla Memorial High School, established in honor of our founder by the Poonawalla family, embodies a philosophy of imparting lasting knowledge and wisdom. Our mission is to enrich our students’ minds with understanding and goodwill that will stay with them forever.

Zavaray Poonawalla Cancer Building

With a spirit of giving back to the community, our group has funded the ‘Zavaray Poonawalla Cancer Building.’ This high-tech facility stands committed to providing the best possible care and treatment for cancer patients.

Gool Poonawalla Garden

We’ve had the privilege of crafting and maintaining the ‘Gool Poonawalla Garden’ in Salisbury Park. Our efforts extend to infrastructure enhancements, too, with the expansion and refurbishment of the Hadapsar Road, now respectfully named the ‘Soli Poonawalla Road’ in homage to our founder.

Poona District Leprosy Committee

Since 1990, our group has shown unwavering support to the “Poona District Leprosy Committee” by outsourcing products from Intervalve Poonawalla Ltd. This initiative offers employment opportunities and a stable income to the affected individuals, allowing them to lead a dignified life.

Shri Sant Gadge Maharaj Vidhyalay

At Shri. Sant Gadge Maharaj Vidhyalaya, South Main Road, Koregaon Park, we have taken the initiative to fence, maintain, and develop a sports ground for the school. Additionally, we’ve ensured that the students have transportation by sponsoring the school buses.

South Main Road Garden

In a dedicated effort to uplift the community, our group took to the South Main Road, ensuring it was cleared of debris and garbage. With the collaborative support of the PMC in Pune, the Yohan Poonawalla Foundation is proud to sponsor a garden in that area, breathing life and greenery into the space.

Turf Club House

Founded in 1819, the Turf Club in Pune is a beacon of a storied past. In our group, our ties to horse breeding and racing run deep, stemming from the time of our revered patriarch, Soli Poonawalla. The importance of upholding and perpetuating this tradition resonates with us. The Pune Turf Club, once a vibrant hub, has weathered many storms over the years.

Recognizing its invaluable heritage and potential, we have stepped forward through the Yohan Poonawalla Foundation to sponsor its renovation. For us, this initiative goes beyond just conservation. It embodies our dedication to revitalizing a key landmark, fostering its continued growth, and paving the way for a flourishing future.

Pune Police

In November 2018, to acknowledge the gallant approach of the Pune Police, Mr. Yohan Poonawalla presented them with a Jeep. This took place at our Poonawalla Group Headquarters in Hadapsar, Pune, with the keys handed over to the Pune Police Commissioner.

Later, in August 2021, recognizing the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and appreciating the unwavering commitment of the Pune Police, Mr. Poonawalla donated a Mahindra Bolero. This handover was made to the Commissioner of Police at the Koregaon Park Police Station. Both gestures symbolize our deep appreciation for their tireless efforts in ensuring the safety of Pune’s citizens.
